My weekly devotional….😊
Everywhere we look there’s a battle. In John 10:10 we’re told that our enemy, the thief, comes only to steal, kill and destroy, so it shouldn’t surprise us when we’re being bombarded from every side. If it’s not our health it’s our finances. If it’s not our finances it’s our relationships or jobs. The list drags on, along with the stress. It wears us down, and frankly, it gets old sometimes! Sometimes I am simply tired of fighting. I want to be done with the struggles and done with the constant need to keep my armor on.
“LORD, remind me how brief my time on earth will be. Remind me that my days are numbered— how fleeting my life is. You have made my life no longer than the width of my hand. My entire lifetime is just a moment to you; at best, each of us is but a breath.”
We are merely moving shadows, and all our busy rushing ends in nothing. We heap up wealth, not knowing who will spend it. And so, Lord, where do I put my hope? My only hope is in you.”
Psalms 39:4-7 NLT
Last week my husband and I were feeling rather homesick. We were missing our friends and disappointed that we weren’t able to be a part of some major events that were taking place in their lives. We made some calls, laughed at some humorous text messages, gushed over some adorable pictures, and enjoyed FaceTime, but we pined for more.
