With Valentine’s Day quickly approaching, I’ve already heard about how commercialized it is and the reminders that you shouldn’t wait for one day a year to express affection to your family or significant other.
While I agree with these things, I always appreciate Valentine’s Day as an additional opportunity to show my loved ones I care. And no, it doesn’t always have to be the man who initiates it!
This year I’m the one planning a date night for my husband and I, and in partnership with FrontGate Media I’ve also downloaded the LoveNudge.app for couples. This app is based on Dr. Gary Chapman’s #1 New York Times bestseller, The 5 Love Languages®!
My husband and I first read Dr. Chapman’s book as newlyweds and found it so helpful. Nearly 9 years later it’s been fun to do a bit of a refresh leading up to this day of love.
Once you download the LoveNudge.app it walks you through a brief quiz that tells your preferred love languages, in order.
The 5 love languages are quality time, receiving gifts, physical touch, acts of service and words of affirmation. The LoveNudge.app allows you to learn more about each of them and their meaning before giving you the opportunity to invite your partner to download it and join you as well.
This is where the fun really begins!
With the both of you logged in, you’ll be prompted by various “love nudges” and asked to set goals with simple ways to show your husband or wife affection.
For example, I’ve set a goal to make my husband’s lunch before he heads to work 3 times a week. You can keep track of various goals and check in with each other to see if your efforts are filling one another’s love tank up.
This has been such a simple yet effective way to check in with each other, especially in the midst of work schedules, sick kiddos and a teething baby.
It helps us focus on the little things that matter to our loved ones, and the nudges that encourage us towards intentionality go such a long way!
Download the LoveNudge App and be entered to win Dr. Gary Chapman’s #1 New York Times bestseller The 5 Love Languages®, The 5 Love Languages® for Men, AND The Love Languages Devotional Bible (hardback)!

What a cute idea, we do honestly need reminders sometimes! Signs we are all too busy for our own good, haha!
Busyness is an epidemic that’s for sure!!
Patricia
This is a really cool idea for an app! Marriage is always a work in progress and this would be a good reminder. I’m going to have to check this out!
Yes it is!! This is a great tool for that purpose!

It’s a fun way to re-connect!
Patricia
Is this app just for couples? I’m single….
Is there any way to remove or edit goals? I can’t figure it out in the app.
I’m so sorry you’re having trouble editing your goals! I haven’t changed mine so unfortunately I’m not much help.
Blessings,
Patricia
Question: when filling the love tank from 0%-100%, how do we know which love language it’s referring to?
You would have taken the quiz to determine the love language first. 🙂
Blessings,
Patricia
Is there anyway to share/view each others goals with our connected partner?
Great question! I don’t think so but I’m not 100% sure.
How do I see my partners love langues so that I can set goals off of them.
Hi Melissa! I’m so sorry but I’m not sure about that particular function. Hope you’ve had a chance to figure it out!!
Be blessed,
Patricia
