November is here and it’s my favorite month of the year!!!! We all have our reasons for loving each season, and today I’m sharing the top 9 things I love about November!
1. It’s my birthday month!!!
I don’t know about you, but I’m all about those month long celebrations! Let the festivities begin!

2. Shamelessly Watching the Hallmark Channel.
When I told people I was watching Hallmark’s Countdown to Christmas last month, I definitely received an eye roll or two. Now that we’re in November and people are discussing decorating and their favorite Christmas tunes, the eye rolling isn’t as blatant, lol.
Give me all the predictable and cheesy rom coms, and the sappy, heartfelt dramas. DVR get ready! #noshame Check out their listing of new films here. You’re welcome.

3. Apple pie and sweet potato pie.
Sorry October, but I’m not really a pumpkin fan. No PSL’s or pumpkin pies for me. Besides, every Thanksgiving my stepdad bakes me my own sweet potato pie (call me greedy if you want), and I’m salivating just thinking about it!
4. The hope of cooler weather.
Allow me to clarify here. I actually love the summer and am a total warm weather girl at heart. However, living in the Georgia heat is a different story than those relatively mild, and humidity free California days. I don’t want to freeze but can I get a cool breeze? Is that too much to ask? Maybe this month…

5. The smells of the season.
Back to the pies, they smell soooooo good! As do soy candles, cinnamon broomsticks, cider, clove, vanilla, and burning logs as you start using that fireplace again.

6. Thanksgiving.
Well of course I’m all about Thanksgiving Day!!! It’s one of the few times a year that I get to taste my mama’s cooking, including, but not limited to her fabulous mac and cheese. I watch the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade with my fam bam in the morning and football in the afternoon. And the family is all together with full bellies and happy hearts.
7. The day after Thanksgiving.
For some it’s all about the Black Friday shopping, but for me it’s all about the leftovers! Hmmm. I’m definitely seeing a theme with the food here, but I digress.
Every morning for as long as I can remember, I’ve had my traditional post-Turkey day breakfast. This consists of scrambled eggs, a slice of sweet potato pie, and a piece of HoneyBaked Ham. My dad started this tradition and it’s one of the many memories I cherish.
I also love this day because I can feel the excitement bubble up within me as we gear up for Christmas! Ideally this is when we do our decorating and our tree, and start our countdown to the birth of Jesus!
8. Being reminded of the gift of life.
My dad passed away from cancer on Nov. 16th, 2009. As much as I’d rather have him here, I know he’s in the best place he could possibly be. I miss him terribly and wish we didn’t have to spend these holidays without him. Yet, in grieving his loss, and the more recent loss of my dear sister-in-love, it’s a sobering reminder that the time we have here, with one another, is precious.
9. Thankfulness is outwardly expressed.
I know, I know. We’re supposed to be thankful every day and it shouldn’t matter the season. But in this month of Thanksgiving it seems we let our guard down a little more. We open up our hearts. We pause and reflect on the good, and I really, really love that.
Now that I’ve shared, what do you love about November?
Be sure to stay connected because I have a lot of fun things in store for this month!
Oh my gosh! Obsessed with the Hallmark Channel! But this year we don’t have cable so I need to hang out at my moms more or find the movies on Hulu
