Weekly Image of Life: Inspiration

Selecting a photo (or photos) for this particular “image of life” was challenging for me.  My parents move tomorrow and I was busy doing what I could to make their transition as smooth as possible.  In the midst of it all I had, well, I just had one of those weeks.  But I digress.  The point is that I wasn’t sure what to share.  I have the Lord to look to for my ultimate inspiration, but what could I post to encapsulate His awesome truth?  Ahhh so many, many things, but then I experienced a very special moment.

Just before her bedtime, my sweet Alexandra was bonding with her daddy.  As I observed the interaction between my daughter and husband my heart melted.  As she laughed, smiled, and squealed in pure delight, I nearly shed a tear at the uncomplicated joy of it all!  I watched intently as I contemplated my own happiness.  I smile a lot and love to laugh, but far too often I allow the little things to get me down.  I analyze and mull things over, while sometimes (unnecessarily) feeling as though I must be the one to carry the burdens on my shoulder.  This couldn’t be further from the truth! As I reflect on my many blessings, my healthy family, and an Almighty God who’s love for me never fails, I am inspired to love stronger, laugh more, and live in the joy that is set before me!

“Everytime you smile at someone, it is an action of love, a gift to that person, a beautiful thing.”    Mother Teresa

  1. Once again, you inspired me with words of lift, love and hope.Indeed you are blessed with a wonderful family, of a life of joy and faith and it is truly beautiful to see that in images and words. Thank you for sharing your sources of inspiration. There are days, I do need to see “inspiration” in the eyes and life of others to uplift my spirit. Just like sometimes, I feel the burden on my shoulders and sometimes it does get too heavy…today I get to smile and it’s a priceless gift indeed. God bless you and your family. Thanks.

  2. This is wonderful reflection of thought Patricia. I was really drawn into your words because I know them all to well. I thank the Lord for His presence and encouragement! He draws our focus right back to where it needs to be. And baby Alexandra cannot get any cuter. She looks so much like her daddy! Blessings to you sweet sister! (hugs)

    1. You want to know something Terra? There were a couple times that while walking around my college campus, someone passed me and told me “it’s ok to smile”. I remember being irritated by this and thinking a. It’s hot (I attended Tuskegee so you know that AL heat!) b. I wasn’t upset, just focused, and c. I don’t even know you, so why should I smile?? This memory came to mind as I wrote this, and now I’m so happy to be growing in the Lord and in a place where my mindset is “why NOT smile?!”

By staying focused on Him we can truly be the reflection God wants us to be to each other!

Love you with love of the Lord Sis!

P.S. She does look like her daddy! No denial here. Lol!

      1. Thank you for sharing this with me Sis! You have me smiling to pieces now. You said it well: “By staying focused on Him we can truly be the reflection God wants us to be to each other!”

        Simply lovely!

Love you with the love of the Lord as well! 🙂
