Jeremiah 10:6 (NKJV)

Inasmuch as there is none like You, O Lord
(You are great, and Your name is great in might),

Philippians 2:9-11 (NKJV)

Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, 10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, 11 and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Acts 4:12 (NKJV)

Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”

Romans 10:13 (NKJV)

For “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

BE BLESSED!!

Monday Motivation: It’s Not Over

Well here we are.  Wow.  In a matter of hours, 2012 will become a thing of the past, and we’ll be at the start of 2013.  It seems that every year flies by faster than the one before, and it can be mind-blowing to think of all that can take place in a span of 12 months.

On this New Year’s Eve, you may be contemplating the goals you set for yourself and the dreams you dared to dream.  Perhaps some of your aspirations were accomplished, while in other areas you fell short.  I know I haven’t accomplished all that I set out to do, and for a brief moment I almost felt discouraged about it.  But then I remembered that the end of the year does not signify the end of every opportunity!!  When the clock strikes at midnight tonight, it doesn’t mean that your chances have been wiped away.  This isn’t the story of Cinderella.  It’s our lives and we can take control of whatever it is we’ve set out to do!!  Whether carrying a goal over from last year, or making a host of new resolutions, think it, speak it, write it, share it, and see what happens in this coming year!

Proverbs 23:7a (AMP)

For as he thinks in his heart, so is he.

Habakkuk 2:2 (AMP)

And the Lord answered me and said, Write the vision and engrave it so plainly upon tablets that everyone who passes may [be able to] read [it easily and quickly] as he hastens by.

Philippians 1:6 (AMP)

And I am convinced and sure of this very thing, that He Who began a good work in you will continue until the day of Jesus Christ [right up to the time of His return], developing [that good work] and perfecting and bringing it to full completion in you.

Take the energy that would’ve otherwise been spent dwelling on what you didn’t do, and put it toward finishing what you’ve started.  Don’t quit, and I’m praying for a safe and happy new year for you all!!! 🙂

When things go wrong, as they sometimes will, When the road you’re trudging seems all uphill,
When the funds are low and the debts are high, And you want to smile, but you have to sigh, When care is pressing you down a bit, Rest, if you must, but don’t you quit.

Life is queer with its twists and turns, As every one of us sometimes learns, And many a failure turns about, When he might have won had he stuck it out; Don’t give up though the pace seems slow– You may succeed with another blow.

Often the goal is nearer than, It seems to a faint and faltering man, Often the struggler has given up, When he might have captured the victor’s cup, And he learned too late when the night slipped down, How close he was to the golden crown.

Success is failure turned inside out– The silver tint of the clouds of doubt, And you never can tell how close you are, It may be near when it seems so far, So stick to the fight when you’re hardest hit– It’s when things seem worst that you must not quit.

Monday Motivation: The POWER of Prayer

At certain times in our lives we’re bound to feel helpless.  Whether it’s over a personal tragedy, or mourning with the nation, it’s that feeling of  “there must be something more I can do”.  We want to help where we can, give what we’re able to, and display sincere support to those who need it most.  Our hearts desire is there, but what happens if we don’t have the means and opportunity to make the impact we hoped for?  The circumstances may be complex, but the answer is simple, really.  Before, during, and after these types of situations, we must always turn to God in prayer.

James 5:16 (AMP)

16 Confess to one another therefore your faults (your slips, your false steps, your offenses, your sins) and pray [also] for one another, that you may be healed and restored [to a spiritual tone of mind and heart]. The earnest (heartfelt, continued) prayer of a righteous man makes tremendous power available [dynamic in its working].

Did you know that there is TREMENDOUS power available through prayer?  This is because The One we pray to is almighty in EVERY WAY!!! In the natural and earthly realm we may recognize certain limitations and that our hands may be tied, but in the spiritual realm we have all that we ask for if we line it up with the Word of God!

1 John 5:14-15 (AMP)

14 And this is the confidence (the assurance, the privilege of boldness) which we have in Him: [we are sure] that if we ask anything (make any request) according to His will (in agreement with His own plan), He listens to and hears us. 15 And if (since) we [positively] know that He listens to us in whatever we ask, we also know [with settled and absolute knowledge] that we have [granted us as our present possessions] the requests made of Him.

I get the frustration and discouragement that comes with this perceived notion of helplessness.  I really do.  But I encourage us to relish in the promises of our Lord and Savior and the fact that we get to have face time with Jesus!!

Hebrews 4:16 (AMP)

16 Let us then fearlessly and confidently and boldly draw near to the throne of grace (the throne of God’s unmerited favor to us sinners), that we may receive mercy [for our failures] and find grace to help in good time for every need [appropriate help and well-timed help, coming just when we need it].

Amen and Amen!!!  God has direct knowledge of all we long to do for others, and what we’d like to happen for ourselves.  So don’t be shy, talk to your Heavenly Father.  In coping with burden, frustration, sadness, and anger, go to Him with confidence!  Do you believe that He hears you?  If so, then before you let your shoulders droop and your mouth turn into a pout, remember that if prayer is ”all” that’s left it’s more than enough!!!  For this I thank Him, and I pray that we all take a moment to do the same! 🙂

Mark 11:24 (AMP)

24 For this reason I am telling you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe (trust and be confident) that it is granted to you, and you will [get it].

Philippians 4:6-7 (AMP)

6 Do not fret or have any anxiety about anything, but in every circumstance and in everything, by prayer and petition (definite requests), with thanksgiving, continue to make your wants known to God.7 And God’s peace [shall be yours, that tranquil state of a soul assured of its salvation through Christ, and so fearing nothing from God and being content with its earthly lot of whatever sort that is, that peace] which transcends all understanding shall garrison and mount guard over your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.

John 15:7 (AMP)

7 If  you live in Me [abide vitally united to Me] and My words remain in you and continue to live in your hearts, ask whatever you will, and it shall be done for you.

John 14:13-14 (AMP)

13 And I will do [I Myself will grant] whatever you ask in My Name [as presenting all that I Am], so that the Father may be glorified and extolled in (through) the Son. 14 [Yes] I will grant [I Myself will do for you] whatever you shall ask in My Name [as presenting all that I Am].

HAVE YOU PRAYED TODAY?

My Unspeakable Joy

A woman, when she is in labor, has sorrow because her hour has come; but as soon as she has given birth to the child, she no longer remembers the anguish, for joy that a human being has been born into the world. John 16:21 (NKJV)

My Darling Alexandra Simone,

3 months have passed since my last letter, and I’m in utter shock and disbelief that you’re 6 months old today!!  Baby girl, I can’t believe how much you’ve grown! It seems like only yesterday that your daddy and I would get excited at every chance we had to see your eyes open, and now we can hardly get you to close them because you don’t want to miss a thing!! My inquisitive little dear, it’s no wonder that you’ve mastered the roll and the scoot, and grabbing any and everything is your new favorite hobby.  You view everything with fresh eyes and being around you helps me to do the same.

In the original “plan” I would’ve been a month into a new school year at work.  However, God gave us peace in making the decision to have me stay home with you, and I couldn’t be happier.  Each day I awake wondering what new adventures are in store for us, and I feel blessed to be the one by your side as you discover the world around you.

When you laugh out loud you crack me up!!  How are you so funny?!  I never thought anything could match your gummy smile, but now that there’s a tooth in there it’s the perfect complement to your beautiful cheesy grin. You’ve become one with your booster seat and spoon, and your zeal for food is eerily familiar… 🙂 You love a cool breeze on your face, and when the toys on your jumper move just as you intended you light up brighter than the Christmas tree at Union Square.

Ahhh my sweet, sweet child, I have tears of joy thinking back on this time we’ve spent, but there’s some reservation too.  As much as I look forward to seeing you hit your next milestone, a part of me wants you to stay my baby forever.  You find comfort in me, you know I’m present and that I’m not going anywhere. I never want that to change. But wait a minute.  That’s the beauty of our relationship isn’t it?  No matter the age, no matter the distance, regardless of who may come and go, you will ALWAYS be my baby and I will ALWAYS be proud to be your mom.

I love you more than you’ll ever know.  Happy Half-Birthday to you!!!

Love, love, love you,

Mommy
