Milestones Aren’t Just For Babies

These items were provided by Polka Dot Print Shop. As always, I only share what I love with you!

In a few short weeks my oldest daughter will be experiencing what I consider to be a major milestone.

My baby, my little girl, will be heading into kindergarten!!! Cue ALL the tears!!!

In 5 years we’ve experienced many firsts and they’ve all been so special. Her first bath, first tooth, first words, first steps, and so much more!!

It was always my intention to record these things in some sort of official capacity, but it never happened.

Ugh. Total #momfail.

Nonetheless, I’m realizing that these precious and memorable moments never really stop!!

Thanks to Polka Dot Print Shop I have a way to document her journey into elementary school, and record fun toddler milestones for her little sissy too!

The Real Reason Why I Don’t Watch the Oscars

The Oscar’s were on this weekend, and I didn’t watch them. I could have. Years ago I would have. But for the 7th year in a row I simply couldn’t bring myself to do it.

In fact, I forgot that Sunday was the 89th Academy Awards until I happened upon a photo of Janelle Monáe in her dazzling gown. In the past that would have been enough to draw me in, but not anymore.

Instead I kept the T.V. off., did some random stuff around the house, and after about 10 minutes of scrolling on Facebook the next morning I got a pretty comprehensive recap of what I missed:

Weekly Image of Life: Love and Family

Whether it’s creating a lifetime of memories, rekindling my passions, or enjoying some summer fun, the love of my family is at the center of it all.  You’ve met them throughout my blog posts, and here I’d like to share some more of my favorite pictures with you.  From a single gal, to a married woman and mom, I love them all and thank God for choosing me to be a part of their lives.  I thank Him for all my blessings!!

I thought I was destined to always be a bridesmaid, never the bride…

And then he proposed!

Our wedding day was a dream come true…

But we knew our marriage was missing a very special addition!

At last she arrived, and we knew 3 was better than 2. 🙂

This is what love and family means to me!!

Weekly Image of Life: A Lifetime of Memories

In my premiere post, Diving into Home, I strongly alluded to my love of softball.  I played for a total of 11 years as the starting catcher, and for as long as I can remember I have been a HUGE San Francisco Giants fan.  I grew up admiring players like Kurt Manwaring, Will Clark, Benito Santiago and Barry Bonds, and when the movie The Sandlot was released I envisioned myself as the female lead in its sequel.

Naturally, I was excited to take Alexandra to her first baseball game, and it was a wonderful night!  I don’t know if she will grow up with same love I have for America’s Favorite Pastime, but I do know that this is just the beginning of a lifetime of wonderful family memories.  In the words of my daughter…

This is my Pop Pop.  He’s from New Jersey so I forgive him for being a Mets fan! 😉

Making my entrance, but mommy’s so comfy I’m sleeping right thru it!

Ok, I’m awake!  Let’s see what’s caught my eye…

Flags!!!  I love how they blow in the wind.  So much movement.

I like the view from AT&T Park.  It’s a beautiful night!

Now that guy’s a fan. Giants Nation!!

It’s official.  I’m a Gamer Baby!!!

My family.  Some of the best people I know. 🙂
