I can’t believe that I’ll be holding a baby in my arms in a matter of months. A baby!!!
I’m excited, overjoyed, and only slightly overwhelmed, lol, but we are gearing up to welcome this precious blessing to the family.
As much as I’ve been preparing mentally and emotionally, I’ve finally begun to nest and gather some essentials. It’s crazy to me to think of all the baby things that will be back in our household, such as a crib, swing, play pen, tiny clothes, and all the diapers and wipes we’ll be needing!
While this is a joyous time of planning and prepping, I’m very aware of the increase in costs that are heading our way and am truly thankful for having the things we need.
Sadly this isn’t the case for everyone, including the one-in-three families in the U.S. who struggle to provide diapers for their baby.
My youngest daughter is turning 3 in September, and she is not yet potty trained. This is certainly not the end of the world, but it is a far departure from what I originally “planned”.
Like her older sister, she began showing interest in the potty right after she turned two. Without even realizing it, I had mapped out the same timeline in my head that I used for her big sissy. It seemed like we were heading in that direction too, until Lily suddenly lost interest.
At this point in time my initial inclination was to get frustrated and annoyed (I’m being honest). I wanted to get this milestone behind me, and according to the members of the “they society”, they all said it would be a simpler process being that she was my second child and a girl. *Please DO note the sarcasm* haha.
But no sooner than I felt the urge to get bothered, I decided to let it go. I knew it would happen when it happened and here are my three reasons why that’s not a bad thing at all!
To say my 21 month old is non-stop is quite the understatement. She’s been walking for 8 months now, but as she gets closer to turning 2, I’m acutely aware that she is a toddler through and through! Not only have the number of tantrums been on the rise, but so has her propensity to get into everything! With all her new activity and discoveries, I’m glad we have Huggies® Little Movers to keep her comfortable and dry with her toddler shenanigans!
