My youngest turned two a couple weeks ago, and while she is just beginning to talk there’s one word I’m pretty sure she’s known since day 1:
When I tell you this girl is a snacker, I mean it!! Carbs and blueberries are all she ever wants. She’ll skip meals and go stand by the pantry door asking for snacks on repeat. Being that this is child number two and I’m oh so experienced (sarcasm noted), I don’t freak out as much about her aversion to complete meals. I do, however, feel bad giving my children the same things over and over and over again. I also want to see her (and my oldest) enjoying foods she likes that are also healthy. When that happens I feel so much better about life, haha, and that’s where Gerber® Lil’ BeaniesTM come in!
As I was handing my daughter her salami and crackers for lunch, she casually uttered these words. The tone was the same as if she were asking me for water or a special treat or fruit snacks, but this statement sent a ripple through my spine and my heart immediately fell into my stomach.
When my 4 year old asks to wear her princess dress, I know she will embody her royal role with every fiber of her being. So when I told her she could give herself a manicure and pedicure with her new polish from Kid Licks, she was thrilled! This food-based nail polish is made of organic vegetables, fruits and plants, making it edible and free from harmful chemicals! I’m so excited to feature Kid Licks for my Small Shop Spotlight, and learn more about the maker and the product both my girls enjoy so much.
Whenever I have the opportunity to return to my beloved California, I always go with a list of ‘musts’ in my head. This list starts with all the people I hope to see, followed closely by the food I have to eat (can somebody say In-n-Outand authentic Mexican food?!), and of course there are the places I want to go.
The moment I walked through the doors of my 4-year olds pre-k prep class, I saw that I was in for a very special treat. My sweet child ran to me with a handmade (literally) bouquet of flowers, listing reasons why she loves me. I’m quite certain I melted into a puddle right there on that floor.
Even though she’s come home with a new craft each week for several months now, (most of which serve as priceless decor on our refrigerator), something about this was different.
