It’s official. Spring has sprung!

The Power of Purple: Smoothie Time!

Our family has found itself in a bit of a rut lately when it comes to healthy mealtime habits. We tend to have the same things over and over again, which gets very boring after a while. Plus, we have a couple of pretty selective eaters on our hands, including a 2 yo who will only eat foods that start with c and end with arb. Hahaha.

I’ve been trying to make simple changes to benefit us all and our overall health goals, so in honor of this being American Heart Month we’ve been amping up our intake of purple!

PB & J Waffle Sandwich

As I mentioned in my previous post, we’ve been enjoying a lengthy Christmas break around here. This is my first year having a school-aged child, and with my pre-kindergartner returning to class soon I’m preparing to get us back into the swing of things. 

I pack my daughter’s  lunch every day, and to be honest I’m usually at a loss for new inspiration. However, thanks to Smucker’s Fruit Spreads and Jif Peanut Butter Spreads, I’m putting a new (and simple) twist on the classic PB & J sandwich!

Scrumptious Snacking With Post® Shredded Wheat

We’re a few days in to the New Year and I feel like it’s finally sinking in. 

Sure my Christmas decorations are still up (I can’t be the only one, right?), but my hubby and I did some goal-setting and planning, our daughters are bouncing off the walls, and I feel like a stuffed pig from all the holiday food I devoured! Everything is right with the world. 😉 

As fun as it is to indulge in all the some of the goodies, feeling like a stuffed pig isn’t actually the long term goal. Lol. So I went grocery shopping and did some quasi-meal planning to make sure we re-establish some healthy habits!

Thanks to Post® Shredded Wheat, I tried a new recipe for homemade snack bars and they turned out great!
