Making the decision to have a child – it is momentous. It is to decide forever to have your heart go walking around outside your body.
As a mom of 3, I have recalled this quote more times than I can count. It embodies so much of motherhood and puts to words what I often feel. As parents (or legal guardians), we are responsible for our precious, precious children, but sometimes, whether out of choice or necessity, we have to entrust someone else with their care.
Regardless of circumstances it’s not easy to do so. No one else can be mama but for those seeking child care there’s an incredibly reliable resource in Quality Rated.
Quality Rated is a website created to take the mystery out of finding excellent and reliable child care. It has a state-certified rating system which helps identify high-quality day care options here in Georgia. This is of the utmost importance because making the decision to leave your child(ren) in someone else’s care should come with the peace of mind knowing they’re truly receiving the best!
In addition to the child care teachers and staff, one must also consider the price, location, and additional services offered. All these questions can be answered with Quality Rated’s search tool.
This free tool helps keep your options organized, and it also gives you access to the safety information included in licensing and monitoring reports, teacher credentials, hours and more for each program. It also lists all licensed as well as license-exempt providers in Georgia (Quality Rated or not), so there’s little to no guess work with such a comprehensive overview.
I was happy to discover that if the program you’re looking into is Quality Rated it has been independently evaluated by credentialed early childhood experts to ensure that they follow best practices. Programs that receive this distinction are committed to seeking new ways to improve and stay relevant in their educational practices.
Although I love being with my girls, I’ve taken a couple different jobs and done some volunteering outside the home in the past few years. There’s potential for me to pursue some new opportunities, but I absolutely wouldn’t pursue anything until I knew I could leave my children in capable hands. With one in school there are still 2 that are with me full-time and they are my whole world!
If we do end up needing a day care at some point I fully believe that, through Quality Rated, I can find a place that emphasizes play and education while valuing the awesome little people that my children are.
This is a non-negotiable for my mama heart!!
