With the varying school schedules, it might seem strange to some that I’m already thinking about back to school shopping in July. However, school has been out since the end of May over here, and with the baby due any day now and school starting at the beginning of August, this mama is trying to make some moves!
I always try to be savings conscious, but I’m even more aware of making smart budgeting choices as our family grows. My oldest is heading into 1st grade this year (somebody pinch me!), so I stocked up on school supplies at Family Dollar!
Family Dollar consistently has great savings so I knew I couldn’t go wrong. The shelves were stocked and I was able to get a little bit of everything at low, low prices!
While prices will vary depending on time of year and location, I can tell you that no single item cost more than $3-4 this trip. Most things were $1-2 and I had to contain my excitement!
I wasn’t the only happy camper either. My daughter pulled her backpack out of the closet, ready to fill it up with all her new goodies!
I had to tell my big girl that it’s not quite time for school to start, but what a relief it is to know she’s all ready to go!
In addition to some more supplies and multiples of items, there’s another critically important purchase I made.
Snacks of course!!! Hahaha!!
Can any child thrive on an empty stomach after school? Nope! And it doesn’t help that they’re always hungry!! Lol!
The good news is that Family Dollar has a solution for that too. Crackers, fruit snacks and juice boxes also filled the cart, and now my pantry is stocked!
Between the snacks and school supplies I was able to stay within my $50 budget. It’s a great feeling to be able to provide your kiddos with what they need without breaking the bank, and Family Dollar knows that well!
Don’t take my word for it. Make moves to your nearest Family Dollar location today!!
Have you started BTS shopping yet?
There’s no need to spend a ton on this stuff. I love your finds and how excited your daughter is to fill her backpack!
I couldn’t agree more! You can get more than enough without breaking the bank, especially with these types of savings!!

Patricia

That’s funny. I didn’t think I’d enjoy it as much as I did! I love getting everything ready!
I haven’t started back to school shopping yet, but I’m always keeping an eye out for sales so that I don’t get caught off guard for the things I need to buy. Thanks for sharing!
No problem at all!! It’s so important to be aware of the best ways to save!

Gosh I always loved the excitement of back to school shopping and picking out new binders and pens. Makes me aaaalmost wish I was still in school. Almost!
Lol! Almost. It’s a great way to get ready for the new year!

As a teacher, I’m still preparing my mind for back to school time. But as a parent, I’m so ready to get back to structured learning. I’ll definitely be getting some supplies from Family Dollar to avoid those big chain stores crowd.
I’m doing all I can to avoid the crowds too. This was the perfect solution!
Blessings,
Patricia
Your daughter looks so adorable and excited to go back to school. I remember when I was her age, I was so happy to get a new box of crayons, pencils, and notebooks. I love the smell of new paper! My kids are a little older so I let them choose which school supplies they need. We’ll most probably shop at Family Dollar too. A little savings can still go a long way.
She can’t wait! It’s all still new and exciting for her. I’m sure you’ll also find some great deals!!!
Blessings,
Patricia
