Surviving the Dog Days of Summer With Danimals®!

The “Dog Days” of summer are considered to be the hottest days of the summer, typically between July 3rd and August 11th. Yep, we’re in it right now, and I’m sure you’ve been feeling the heat over the last several weeks!

One thing that makes this time of year difficult, especially in this southern humidity, is doing (and enjoying) some fun activities outside with my girls. In particular, the playground.

They are constantly asking to play at the playground, but 5 minutes after arriving they’re hot and thirsty and nothing sounds appealing to them. At least that was the case until we started packing Dannon ® Danimals® Yogurt Smoothies!

Dannon ® Danimals® Yogurt Smoothies have been the perfect solution!

First of all, when we went shopping at Walmart I had no idea that my daughter’s were already familiar with the smoothies and had been eager to try them. Apparently they saw a commercial that talked about finding the golden Bongo for a chance to win a trip to Disney World, and they began telling me that they really, really wanted the gold monkey to show up at our house!!

After I gently broke the news to them, (sorry, Bongo doesn’t know our address, lol), I did tell them we could take these Danimals® to the playground for a tasty treat.

They were thrilled about the taste, and I was thrilled to discover that Dannon ® Danimals® Yogurt Smoothies are a great source of calcium and Vitamin D. Being a dairy product they help kids build strong bones, and with one child who’s not too excited about drinking milk these days that was a major plus.

Because these drinks have to stay refrigerated, they are still nice and refreshing after our 5 minute walk to the park. Instead of complaining about the heat, the girls are ready to enjoy one at their leisure. I can’t even begin to tell you what a difference that’s made.

Less whining and more playing is a total mom win!

If your little ones haven’t tried Dannon ® Danimals® Yogurt Smoothies , I definitely recommend them! They’re easy to pack (throw them in a cooler for long rides), tasty and delicious, and these smiles just can’t be beat!!

  1. I’m always so scared of dairy getting warm, but I’ve been told recently that milk (and smoothies) are actually really good at rehydrating kids. I’ll definitely have to try these as my Squeak gets older and plays more outside.

    1. There really good and it’s great because they’re so small and portable you can pop them in a cooler if you feel like you’re going to be out for a long time.

  2. Parker loves these! Well only the strawberry, the other flavors she says are icky. Toddlers! Love the photos btw. The cheesy smiles always get me.
