It’s the last day of the month! Wow! Before November is gone, I wanted to share the second part of the New York trip my hubby and I took a couple weeks ago. Click here for the full recap of day one!
We slowed things down a tiny bit for the remainder of our trip, but the fun didn’t stop for a moment.
Our original plan was to sleep in on Sunday, especially after our late night watching the UFC fight. However, we found out that a childhood friend of my husband’s was also in town, and she invited us to join her for service at The Brooklyn Tabernacle.
We hadn’t made it to Brooklyn yet so it was nice being able to visit another NY borough, and of course we were eager to hear solid biblical teaching along with their world-renowned choir. It did not disappoint!!
After church we were all hungry, and made a bit of a trek to Harlem to try this brunch spot that was apparently phenomenal. Well, it’s so good that there was a 2 hour wait! We were going from hungry to hangry fast, lol, so that wasn’t going to work! We ended up trying a spot down the street and I wasn’t too impressed. If you saw the meal we had on our first night, few things would compare, but for the price and the mediocre service, this place was just ok in my book.
However, we had great conversation and I’m so happy we were able to catch up with our friend!! It had been about 6 years since we saw her and she is truly a breath of fresh air!!
We all rode the subway together to Penn Station, as she had a plane to catch. Before sending her off we stopped at Magnolia Bakery to get some sweet treats. My hubby and I each selected cheesecake. Can you guess which one is mine? We saved them for later, and since it was the eve of my birthday I declared it my birthday cake and ate every last bite!
After saying our goodbyes we headed downtown and met up with some dear friends of ours for a yummy Italian dinner. Of course we took a couple photos along the way.

Once at dinner I finally got the calamari I’d been craving and it was good!
From there we parted ways and my husband and I headed to Central Park to check the final item off our checklist (for now). I’ve always wanted to go on a horse-drawn carriage ride, and that’s just what we did! It was the perfect ending to the night and a great way to cap off a truly wonderful trip.

We crashed as soon as we got back to the room. Actually, we ate the cheesecake first then crashed. Haha. New York was good to us but we had a flight to catch in the morning. We’ve already started planning for our next visit though, and who knows, maybe I’ll see you there!

See I love this. Time away with your man without the kids is always a must and much needed. Really would love to get to do this with my Husband when the times comes. It all looked like an amazing fun trip!
It’s so important!!!! I hope you and your husband have an opportunity to get away soon!! It’s always worth it!!!!!!
