My husband and I visited New York City a couple weeks ago. You can read more about our first full day in the city here, but our trip really began that Friday night.
As soon as we dropped our bags we hopped on a train to Conrad New York, located in Manhattan’s famous Battery Park City. We had a reservation at their dine-in restaurant, Atrio Wine Bar & Restaurant.
There the feasting began!

I was initially concerned about the timing of our reservation because our flight had been delayed by more than 2 hours. I emailed the reservations department and immediately received a response from their Hospitality Coordinator, Eliza.
She assured me they’d have no problem accommodating our new schedule and was so helpful!!
Eliza was there to greet us when we arrived and I knew we’d be in for a real treat.
It only took a few moments for my husband and I to decide on the Dry Aged “Niman Ranch” Rib Eye. This was a meal served for two and came with a summer green salad, and slow roasted potatoes with crispy butcher bacon.
My husband described the salad as fresh, light, and full of flavor. I couldn’t have said it better! I didn’t want to waste a drop of the white balsamic vinaigrette to go to waste, and my taste buds danced at the addition of the Gruyère Cheese.
The potatoes were delightful. I liked that they were almost bite-sized and weren’t too heavy as an accompanying side dish.
They were topped with bacon and well, we always win with bacon right?!
The main course was the rib eye, and it was cooked to perfection. We prefer ours medium well, and it was tender and perfectly seasoned. I was extremely content with the taste of the smoked salt, but my husband dove right into the green peppercorn sauce. Either way, this meat was delicious!!!
I know everyone has turkey on the brain right now, but oh what I wouldn’t give to have another bite of that steak!
I don’t know how, but we managed to save just enough room for dessert. It was a difficult decision but we decided to share the Sicilian Pistachio Crème Brûlée with wild ginger & quince compote. Let me tell you, we made the right choice!
My husband joked that he never knew burnt cream could taste so good, lol, and we were both licking our spoons by the end of the night.
I wanted to savor every bite of each dish. The service was impeccable, the food was splendid and our night at Atrio was the perfect start to our incredible weekend!
Headed to New York? Definitely add Atrio Wine Bar & Restaurant to your list!
*Our meal was provided by Atrio, but as always, all opinions expressed are genuine and my own!*
