Making the Time Count With Jord

“Is that a mechanical wood watch????” My dad, quite the watch connoisseur, was thoroughly impressed with my Purpleheart and Mother of Pearl from Jord Wood Watches, and honestly, I don’t blame him. I haven’t worn a watch in a while, but this beautifully crafted timepiece is in heavy rotation on my wrist!

I’ve been in a bit of a clothing slump lately. You know that whole ‘in between sizes need to give your closet a spring cleaning in the summer’ sort of thing ;), but in the meantime I’ve been on the look out for some really pretty and functional accessories. I’ve been wanting to get back into the habit of wearing a watch, and Jord offers such a great selection!  Their women’s watches are feminine and functional and I think this color is particularly stunning.

My mom agrees and has tried to permanently ‘borrow’ it from me more than once (nice try mommy lady), and my husband always compliments me when I wear it as if he’s seeing it for the first time (it’s likely he forgot, lol). But more than being a pretty timepiece, I’ve noticed another benefit too.

“The value of a watch is not in being able to tell how much time has passed, but in being aware of the need to make that time count. Moments are bigger than minutes and your watch should tell more than time.” Jord

That need to make time count resonates with everyone, and it certainly resonated with me. I obviously love taking pictures and engaging in social media (most days), but of course my priority is in enjoying quality time with my family. But sometimes I can be too easily distracted, and when I take my phone out to do something as simple as check the time, it leads me down the rabbit hole. This is not my intention, but I’ve enjoyed keeping my phone out of reach and the time on my wrist.

  1. This is so true! Taking out our phones often leads to checking
IG or email and on and on… It is so important to be present! Yes!
I really enjoyed reading this thoughtful post! I think I am going to get a watch. 🙂 TY!

  2. Gorgeous watch and dress! I’m at the same spot with my closet. I’ve gained seriously 15 lbs since Parker has started weaning 🙁 Time to refresh the wardrobe (and stop eating cookies!).

  3. I totally agree about wearing a watch so I don’t go down the rabbit hole of no return. You look gorgeous, and I love how you tie these products into your everyday life!

  4. Such a gorgeous color, and I’ve basically given up on wearing watches, even owning them – especially after my last two were stolen. Anyhow, I will definitely go check out their watches and make more of an effort to spend quality time with the ones I love. Also, perhaps getting one of these watches for your Mom for Christmas might be a good idea, no?
