Happy Love Day!!

truelove

Being that it’s Valentine’s Day, I wasn’t surprised to see that the daily prompt was asking us to write an ode to someone or something you love.  There would even be bonus points for poetry! :)  Well, I’m not a poet, lol, and if you’ve read any one of my posts it’s clear that my heart belongs to Jesus, my amazing husband and our incredible little girl.  So instead of dedicating an ode to anyone in particular, I simply want to tell you ALL that I love you!!!

I know there are mixed emotions when it comes to celebrating this particular holiday, and that’s ok.  Maybe your funny valentine is your sister, friend, parent, or child, and like most of us you try to show them your love daily and not just when everyone else is putting emphasis on it.  Whether or not you think today is too commercialized, feel like it puts too much pressure on couples (especially men) to be extravagant, or you’re single and would rather maintain that it’s just another Thursday, ;) I want you to know that God’s love was the first and greatest love of all, and we should be excited to rejoice in that!!

It was on this day, 11 years ago, that my “girls only” celebration with my bestie in college became the night I received the infilling of the Holy Spirit, and I knew then that my status had absolutely no bearing on the unconditional love He has for me!  This same love has seen me through ups and downs, break-ups and make-ups, the loss of my dear daddy, and my marriage to my best friend.  This same love sustains me in a way that I can’t fully express in words, but it’s one I hope to share, even in it’s smallest measure, with each of you!

Regardless of where you are and what you’re doing (or not doing) this evening, let the love of Christ shower you with warmth, peace, and joy.

Love and blessings to you all, and HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY!!!!!

  1. Belated Happy Valentine’s Day. True love comes from a heart that gives without conditions and loves despite of everything. Loving one another is something we hope and pray for all. Today, God reminded us once again what’s important in this life through you. Thanks.
