Weekly Image of Life: Seasons and Changes

Ecclesiastes 3:1

To everything there is a season,
A time for every purpose under heaven:

I pray that at this point you all know that everything I share is done so in love and from the sincerest part of my heart.  Today is no exception, as I introduce you to the woman I admire, adore and deeply appreciate for being the most phenomenal mom I know.   From the day He decided we were to be together, God has blessed me in such a mighty way through her.  Generous, selfless, motivating, passionate, strong…oh the list of her amazing attributes goes on and on!  Most importantly she is a woman after God’s own heart, and if I can be just a hint of the mother she’s been to me, I know my sweet Alexandra will be in good shape.

I’m choosing to share all of this with you now, because in a little over a week she and my stepdad (another blessing!) will be moving across the country to GeorgiaI know I’m an adult, and wife and mother now myself, but there’s nothing like having your mommy close-by.  I will miss her tremendously, but I’m supremely confidant that our relationship will continue to grow.  This is a new season in her life, and I encourage her to embrace it with everything that she has.  My parents are homeowners now, which is a dream fulfilled, and I’m thrilled for what the Lord is doing in their lives.  A change has come, but one thing will never change.  My mom is my hero, and I can’t thank her enough for how she’s enriched my life.

This beautiful card says so much…

I LOVE YOU MOM!!!!!!!!!

  1. How wonderful Patricia that you have such a close relationship with your precious Mum, how blessed you both are, my story is a bit different and although Mum who adopted me is a caring woman she never accepted me as her own and with her being an Atheist she rejects my faith strongly but I continue to pray.

I loved your photos and was amazed by the differences in each of them as you grew older but it is the inner beauty you shared about your Mum that touched my heart.

The link below is a Power point about Mums that I adapted, I’m sorry I don’t know who the original creator was but as I prayed God helped me to put on the finishing touches as it did not have a Christian focus before. I wrote as I would have liked to have a Mum like yours that gave reassurance that God Loved me, I cried a lot because I realised what I had missed but I also gave thanks for the good things my Mum did teach me, her Mum was a Christian and must have set a good example in caring and kindness.

  2. I had to hold back my emotions when I read your post since I am at work but I just want to tell you how much I appreciated your generosity in sharing your wonderful mom. She has a gentle and loving heart with a very welcoming warm smile just like you and your little angel have. I wish her and your stepdad a beautiful, happy life full of blessings in their new home. I know it’s a bit hard when we are away from the people we love but somehow our love will find a away. Thank you and this I truly admire, ” A change has come, but one thing will never change. My mom is my hero, and I can’t thank her enough for how she’s enriched my life. ” God bless you and your family.

    1. Thank you for your words IT. I know that you are all too familiar with the saying “distance makes the heart grow fonder”, but I’d say we are both blessed to have people we love so much and whom we can depend on both near and far. God bless you and your family throughout the days and weeks, and don’t work too hard!! 😉
